Parsley is a board certified hair transplant specialist
Dr. William Parsley is Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He is in private practice in Louisville, KY and his practice is limited to hair restoration surgery. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, a non-ABMS board with no ABMS equivalent. He is past Treasurer and President of the Kentucky Dermatologic Society. He is the current Treasurer of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, current President of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, current Chair of the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, current member of the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and current member of the Board of Trustees of the Hair Foundation. In addition to the above he is an active member in good standing in the American Academy of Dermatology, Kentucky Medical Association, Jefferson County Medical Association, American Hair Loss Council and the Dermatologic Surgery Society. He is the current Moderator of the Hair Transplantation Forum for the American Academy of Dermatology at the annual meetings.
Dr. Parsley has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally. He has been the guest lecturer at the Japanese Hair Restoration Society Annual Meeting and been a faculty member of the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the ISHRS Live Surgery Workshop and the Masters Teaching Workshp in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is a past Co-Editor of the Hair Transplant Forum International (newsletter of the ISHRS) and has contributed frequent articles on hair restoration to the field. He is a recipient of the ISHRS’s Golden Follicle Award, given once annually for clinical contributions in the field of hair restoration. Also, Dr. Parsley is a former member of the Merck Advisory Panel
Dr. Parsley has written 2 chapters in each of the two current major textbooks in the field of hair restoration: 1) Hair Transplantation and 2) Hair Transplantation- Procedures in Cosmetic Dermatology. In addition he has written a chapter in the Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics (May 2004).
Dr. Parsley was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. He attended college at Wake Forest University, medical school at the University of Tennessee, internship at Los Angeles County/ USC Medical Center, and dermatologic residency at the University of Louisville Medical Center. He has served externships at the Mayo Clinic and M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital. Dr. Parsley also served for 2 years in the Air Force at Moody Air Force Base, GA, as a Flight Surgeon.
